Who we are and what this policy covers
Exposed Vocals, LLC (“Exposed Vocals,” “EV,” “we,” “us” or “our”) operates exposedvocals.com as an independent music publication and professional music platform.
This Privacy Policy explains how EV collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information when you:
- Visit exposedvocals.com.
- Create or manage an account or profile.
- Publish, follow, connect, vote or participate in The Signal.
- Submit music, video, artist information, editorial materials or professional opportunities.
- Purchase a service or subscription.
- Join a newsletter, campaign or promotion.
- Contact EV for editorial, business, support, billing, safety or legal reasons.
- Use a recommendation, analytics, verification or professional matching feature.
This policy applies to the EV Platform and EV-controlled communications that link to it. It does not govern an outside website, video host, social network, payment provider or other third party operating under its own privacy policy.
For purposes of applicable privacy law, Exposed Vocals, LLC is the controller or business responsible for the personal information described here, unless a separate notice says otherwise.
Information we collect
The information EV collects depends on how you use the Platform.
Account and identity information
EV may collect:
- Name, display name and username.
- Email address, password hash and account-security information.
- Account type, role and organization affiliation.
- Profile image and other identity information you choose to provide.
- Email-confirmation, sign-in, password-reset and account-recovery records.
- Information from an approved sign-in provider when you choose that option, such as name, email address, provider identifier and profile image, subject to the permissions shown by that provider.
EV does not need your account password in readable form and will not ask you to send it by email.
Profile and professional information
Artists, representatives and music professionals may provide:
- Artist, band, company or professional name.
- Biography, genres, roles, skills and credits.
- General location, territory, language and markets served.
- Career stage, goals, availability, “looking for” and “open to” preferences.
- Website, social, streaming and portfolio links.
- Releases, songs, videos, artwork, photographs and press materials.
- Rights, ownership, clearance and deliverable information.
- Performance, booking, sync, collaboration or opportunity preferences.
- Organization rosters and client relationships.
- External press, EV coverage and professional history.
Some of this information is intended to be public. You choose many profile fields, but certain identity, role or eligibility fields may be required for a specific feature.
Content and social activity
EV may collect content and activity such as:
- Signal posts, replies, reactions, follows, connections, saves and reports.
- Music and video links, captions, metadata and embedded media.
- Chart entries, eligible votes and anti-manipulation signals.
- Opportunity listings, applications or responses.
- Messages and related metadata when EV messaging is available.
- Content-removal, correction, moderation and appeal records.
Public posts and interactions may be visible to visitors and search engines. Private or limited-audience features are visible according to the controls and disclosures presented with that feature.
Editorial and service information
When you pitch or purchase editorial, promotional or professional services, EV may collect:
- Artist and representative contact information.
- Press releases, biographies, interview answers, credits and release details.
- Audio, video, images, links and supporting documents.
- Campaign objectives, timing, target audience and requested deliverables.
- Editorial communications, approvals, corrections and production status.
- Evidence that you are authorized to act for an artist or client.
Purchases, subscriptions and transaction information
EV may collect:
- Billing name and contact information.
- Order, product, coupon, subscription and transaction history.
- Payment status, processor identifiers, partial payment-method details and fraud signals.
- Tax, invoice, refund, cancellation and charge-dispute information.
- Entitlements connected to an EV product or subscription.
Payment processors generally collect complete payment-card or financial-account information directly. EV should receive only the information required to confirm and manage the transaction. The processor’s privacy policy applies to information it collects independently.
Communications and support information
EV collects messages and records when you:
- Contact support, editorial, billing, privacy, safety or legal teams.
- Reply to EV email or communicate about a submission or order.
- Complete a survey, feedback form or feature request.
- Report content, an account, abuse or a copyright issue.
- Participate in a promotion, interview or business discussion.
Do not send full card numbers, passwords, authentication codes, private keys or unrelated sensitive information.
Device, usage and technical information
When you visit or use EV, EV and its service providers may automatically collect:
- IP address and approximate location derived from it.
- Browser, device, operating system and language information.
- Referring and exit pages.
- Pages, profiles, content and features viewed or used.
- Dates, times, session information and interaction events.
- Cookie, pixel, local-storage and similar identifiers.
- Performance, diagnostic, crash, security and fraud-prevention data.
EV does not need precise GPS location for ordinary use. If a future feature requests precise location, EV will provide a specific explanation and obtain consent where required.
Verification and safety information
EV may collect information reasonably needed to:
- Confirm control of an email address, website, social account or artist profile.
- Verify that a person represents an artist, organization or catalog.
- Investigate impersonation, fraud, abuse or manipulated activity.
- Review a claim, dispute, legal notice or account appeal.
EV should request the least sensitive evidence reasonably necessary. If government-issued identification is ever required, EV will provide a specific notice explaining why, how it will be protected and how long it will be retained.
Information about other people
You may provide information about collaborators, band members, clients, employees, rights holders, representatives or other people. You must have authority to provide it and must not publish private contact information without permission.
Where information comes from
EV may receive information:
- Directly from you, including registration, profiles, submissions, purchases, forms, emails and support requests.
- From your activity, including visits, interactions, votes, follows, connections, reports and product use.
- From other users or organizations, such as an authorized manager adding an artist to a roster or a collaborator supplying credits.
- From connected services, when you deliberately sign in, embed media, connect an account or authorize an integration.
- From service providers, including hosting, security, analytics, email, payment and fraud-prevention providers.
- From public sources, such as official artist websites, public social profiles, streaming pages, press materials and published professional information.
- From EV’s records, including existing articles, videos, interviews, orders and historical artist coverage.
When EV creates or enriches an artist profile from public or historical information, the profile should identify its source or provide a claim, correction or removal route where appropriate.
How EV uses information
EV may use personal information to:
Operate accounts and the Platform
- Create, authenticate and secure accounts.
- Publish and maintain profiles and content.
- Provide dashboards, follows, connections, messages, notifications and account controls.
- Remember preferences and maintain sessions.
Deliver editorial and paid services
- Review pitches and submissions.
- Research, produce, edit, publish and promote coverage.
- Fulfill products, subscriptions and campaigns.
- Communicate about missing materials, approvals, status and delivery.
Process transactions
- Manage checkout, orders, invoices, subscriptions, entitlements, refunds and disputes.
- Detect payment abuse and maintain accounting and tax records.

- Recommend profiles, content, services or opportunities.
- Explain profile completion and Professional Footprint next steps.
- Help users find relevant music and professional counterparts.
- Reduce irrelevant results and repeated recommendations.
Protect EV and its community
- Confirm identity or authority where appropriate.
- Detect spam, bots, impersonation, security attacks and manipulation.
- Enforce EV’s Terms, chart rules and community standards.
- Investigate reports, appeals, copyright notices and legal disputes.
Communicate
- Send essential account, order, security, moderation and legal messages.
- Respond to inquiries.
- Send newsletters, announcements and promotions where permitted.
- Measure whether operational and marketing messages work.
Analyze and improve
- Understand feature use, performance and errors.
- Measure content, profile and campaign engagement.
- Test improvements and plan new services.
- Create aggregated or de-identified insights that do not reasonably identify a person.
Comply with law
- Respond to valid legal process.
- Exercise or defend legal claims.
- Meet recordkeeping, consumer-protection, tax and regulatory duties.
EV will not use information for a materially different purpose without providing any notice or consent required by law.
Public profiles, posts and editorial content
EV is partly a public publishing platform. Information you place in a public profile, post, comment, chart entry, credit, video page or editorial submission may be:
- Visible worldwide without an account.
- Indexed by search engines.
- Shared, quoted, embedded or captured by other people.
- Associated with your artist, professional or organization identity.
- Retained as part of EV’s editorial and historical archive.
Review information before publishing it. Do not place a home address, private telephone number, personal email address, financial information or confidential contract terms in a public field.
Removing information from EV does not remove copies already indexed, cached, downloaded, republished or controlled by another service. EV may help with correction or removal requests it can reasonably control, but it cannot recall third-party copies.
Editorial articles and completed coverage are different from an editable member profile. EV may correct factual errors and evaluate legitimate privacy or safety requests while preserving lawful editorial records, public-interest reporting and historical archives.
Professional Footprint, recommendations and matching
EV may use account, profile, content, activity and service information to organize your Professional Footprint and recommend relevant next actions.
Professional Footprint percentages describe completion of defined profile or career-building categories. They are not measures of artistic worth or predictions of success. EV may use completed fields, connected media, EV coverage and service history to show what is present or missing and avoid recommending an action already completed.
Future professional matching may use structured information such as role, genre, territory, career stage, availability, stated intent, release readiness, rights status, language, clean or explicit versions, instrumentals, stems and other opportunity requirements.
EV’s approved matching design excludes purchases, EV Verified status, chart votes and popularity as ranking advantages. Those signals may appear elsewhere on the Platform but do not buy or control professional match priority.
Recommendations and matches support human decisions. EV does not intend to make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects such as hiring, firing, credit or eligibility for essential services. Users and opportunity owners decide whether to connect, respond or proceed.
You may update relevant profile and preference data, decline a recommendation, or contact EV to correct inaccurate information. EV may limit disclosure of technical ranking details when necessary to prevent manipulation, fraud or security abuse.
Cookies, analytics and similar technologies
EV and its providers may use cookies, pixels, local storage and similar technologies to:
- Keep you signed in and remember settings.
- Protect accounts and prevent fraud.
- Operate checkout and subscriptions.
- Measure traffic, content performance and feature use.
- Diagnose errors and improve speed.
- Measure communications and campaigns.
- Support advertising or audience measurement, if EV enables those functions.
Some technologies are necessary for the Platform to work. Others may depend on consent or may be disabled through a cookie or privacy-choice tool where required.
Browser controls can block or delete cookies, but doing so may prevent sign-in, checkout, saved preferences or other features from working. Embedded media may allow its provider to collect information when the player loads or when you interact with it.
EV does not currently run advertising or audience-measurement trackers that disclose your information to outside advertising partners, so there is no advertising opt-out to manage today. If that changes, this section and Section 9 below will be updated first, and a live privacy-choices tool will be added here.
EV does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals that lack a uniform legal standard, except where applicable law requires a response. Where legally required, EV will honor recognized opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control, for the browser or device sending the signal.
How EV discloses information
EV may disclose information in the following circumstances.
Public and user-directed disclosure
EV publishes information you submit to public areas. EV also discloses information when you direct it to—for example, by connecting an account, embedding a video, applying to an opportunity, contacting another user or using a third-party sign-in option.
Service providers
EV may disclose information to vendors that provide services such as:
- Website hosting, content delivery, backups and security.
- Account authentication and email delivery.
- Analytics, diagnostics and performance monitoring.
- Forms, support and communication tools.
- Checkout, payment processing, invoicing and fraud prevention.
- Newsletter and campaign delivery.
- Data storage, development and technical operations.
These providers may use information to perform contracted services and as permitted by their own terms and applicable law. EV should contractually restrict service providers from using personal information for unrelated purposes where required.
Professional counterparties
If you choose to apply, connect, respond or share materials through an opportunity or matching feature, EV may provide the information necessary for the intended professional interaction. The recipient’s independent handling of information may be governed by its own policy or agreement.
Legal, safety and enforcement disclosures
EV may disclose information when it reasonably believes disclosure is necessary to:
- Comply with law, court order or valid legal process.
- Protect users, EV or the public from fraud, abuse, security threats or physical harm.
- Investigate or enforce EV’s Terms and policies.
- Establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
- Respond to a lawful copyright, privacy or rights request.
EV may challenge or narrow a request when appropriate and legally permitted.
Business transfers
Information may be disclosed as part of due diligence, financing, reorganization, merger, acquisition, bankruptcy or sale of all or part of EV’s business or assets. A recipient may use the information subject to this policy unless it provides notice of a different policy as required by law.
Aggregated and de-identified information
EV may use and disclose information that has been aggregated or de-identified so it cannot reasonably identify you. EV will not attempt to re-identify de-identified information except to test whether de-identification works or as permitted by law.
Sale, sharing and targeted advertising
EV does not sell personal information for money.
Some privacy laws define “sale” or “sharing” more broadly than an exchange for money. Analytics, advertising, social-media or embedded-content technologies can disclose identifiers and internet activity to other companies, and some laws may treat certain disclosures as sale, sharing or processing for targeted advertising.
EV does not sell personal information, share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, or process personal information for targeted advertising as those terms are defined by applicable state privacy laws.
EV does not knowingly sell or share personal information of children under 16 for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Payment processors and commerce
Payment information submitted at checkout may be collected directly by the payment processor. EV receives transaction information needed to confirm payment, deliver the product, manage subscriptions, issue refunds, prevent fraud and maintain business records.
EV may use commerce systems to connect an order or subscription to your account and Professional Footprint. Payment itself does not improve verification, charts or professional matching rank.
Do not email complete card numbers, bank credentials or authentication codes to EV. Questions about a processor’s independent data practices should be directed to that processor and reviewed under its privacy policy.
Email, newsletters and notifications
EV may send:
- Essential messages, such as email confirmation, password reset, security alerts, order updates, subscription notices, moderation decisions and material legal notices.
- Editorial and professional messages, such as submission status, interview questions, requested materials, opportunity responses and service delivery.
- Marketing messages, such as newsletters, product announcements, promotions and platform updates, where permitted.
You may unsubscribe from marketing through the link in the message or by contacting EV. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop essential account, transaction, security or legal messages.
EV may retain an email address on a suppression list after unsubscribe so it can honor the request. If an agency or representative submits another person’s email to EV, that person must have been informed and any legally required consent must have been obtained.
Notification settings may let you control certain in-app or email activity alerts. Some safety, security and account notices cannot be disabled while the account remains open.
How long EV keeps information
EV retains personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including providing the Platform, maintaining editorial records, completing orders, protecting security, resolving disputes and complying with law.
Retention depends on the information and context:
| Information | General retention approach |
|---|---|
| Account and profile information | While the account is active and for a reasonable period after closure to complete deletion, prevent fraud, address disputes or permit lawful restoration. |
| Public posts and social activity | While published or needed to preserve conversation integrity; removed or de-identified where appropriate after a valid request, subject to legal and archival exceptions. |
| Editorial articles and published coverage | May be retained as part of EV’s editorial and historical archive, with corrections or privacy accommodations evaluated case by case. |
| Orders, subscriptions, invoices and tax records | For the period required by accounting, tax, consumer-protection, fraud-prevention and legal obligations. |
| Verification evidence | Only as long as reasonably necessary to complete verification, document the decision, prevent impersonation or resolve a dispute, with access restricted according to sensitivity. |
| Messages and opportunity records | According to the feature’s operational, safety and dispute needs; specific periods should be disclosed when messaging launches. |
| Security, audit and moderation logs | For a limited period appropriate to platform integrity, incident investigation, repeat abuse and legal claims. |
| Marketing records | Until you unsubscribe or the information is no longer useful, plus a suppression record needed to honor the opt-out. |
| Support and legal requests | Until the issue is resolved and for a reasonable period needed for follow-up, auditing or claims. |
| Backups | Until overwritten through EV’s ordinary backup cycle, unless preservation is legally required. |
EV may retain information longer when required by law, legal hold, active dispute, fraud investigation or safety need. EV may retain aggregated or de-identified information that no longer reasonably identifies you.
Security
EV uses administrative, technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. Measures may include access controls, encryption in transit, password hashing, backups, monitoring, rate limits, software updates and restricted administrative access.
No website, transmission or storage system is completely secure. EV cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed without authorization.
You can help by:
- Using a unique password and available multi-factor authentication.
- Keeping your email account secure.
- Not sharing passwords or verification codes.
- Signing out of shared devices.
- Reporting suspicious activity promptly.
If EV determines that a security incident requires notice, EV will notify affected people and authorities as required by applicable law.
Your account and privacy choices
Depending on the feature and your location, you may be able to:
- Review and update profile or account information.
- Choose which optional information appears publicly.
- Adjust communication and notification preferences.
- Unfollow, disconnect, block or report another account.
- Delete a post or request correction of content.
- Cancel a subscription and stop future renewals.
- Unsubscribe from marketing.
- Manage nonessential cookies and covered advertising choices.
- Request access, correction, deletion or a copy of certain information.
- Close your account.
Some information cannot be changed through account tools because it relates to a completed order, editorial record, enforcement action or legal obligation. Contact EV for review.
Closing an account does not automatically erase completed editorial coverage, lawful historical publications, transaction records, fraud-prevention records, legal evidence, backup copies or third-party copies. EV will explain applicable exceptions when responding to a request.
How to make a privacy request
Send a request to admin@exposedvocals.com with the subject Privacy Request, or use EV’s privacy-request form when available.
Describe whether you want to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of information, or object to a particular use. Include the email and profile URL connected to the account, but do not send your password, full card number or unnecessary identity documents.
EV may take reasonable steps to verify that you are the person the information concerns. Verification may use control of the account email, information already associated with the account or another proportionate method. EV will not require more information than reasonably necessary.
An authorized agent may submit a request where applicable law permits it. EV may ask for proof of the agent’s authority and may verify the request directly with you.
EV will respond within the period required by applicable law. If EV denies or limits a request, it will explain the reason and any available appeal right when required. EV will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights, although deleting necessary information may prevent EV from providing a feature or completing a service.
U.S. state privacy rights
Depending on where you live and whether the relevant law applies to EV, you may have rights to:
- Confirm whether EV processes your personal information.
- Access categories or specific pieces of personal information.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete information, subject to legal exceptions.
- Obtain a portable copy of certain information.
- Opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising or certain profiling.
- Limit certain uses of sensitive personal information.
- Appeal EV’s decision on a privacy request.
Use the process above under How to make a privacy request. Where legally required, EV will honor recognized browser-based opt-out preference signals for covered sale, sharing or targeted advertising.
EV does not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about people for unrelated purposes. EV does not offer financial incentives in exchange for personal information unless it first provides the notice and obtains the consent required by law.
Rights vary by state, contain exceptions and may apply only after a business meets statutory thresholds. EV may choose to honor a reasonable request more broadly even when a particular statute does not require it.

EV obtains these categories from the sources listed above under Where information comes from and uses them for the purposes listed above under How EV uses information. EV retains them using the criteria above under How long EV keeps information.
EV does not knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers under 16. EV does not use or disclose sensitive personal information beyond purposes permitted by applicable law without providing any required right to limit.
California residents may use the process above under How to make a privacy request to exercise applicable rights. California’s “Shine the Light” law may also permit residents with an established business relationship to request information about certain disclosures for direct-marketing purposes. EV does not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing without the choice or authorization required by law.
EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland
If data-protection law in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom or Switzerland applies, EV processes personal information under one or more legal bases:
- Contract: to create an account, fulfill an order, provide a subscription or deliver a requested Platform feature.
- Legitimate interests: to operate and improve EV, secure accounts, prevent fraud, maintain relevant discovery, communicate about services and protect legal rights, balanced against your rights and expectations.
- Consent: for optional cookies, certain marketing, connected services or another purpose where consent is required. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
- Legal obligation: to comply with tax, accounting, legal-process, consumer-protection and regulatory duties.
You may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict personal data; receive portable data; object to processing based on legitimate interests or direct marketing; withdraw consent; and complain to your local data-protection authority.
EV is based in the United States. Information may be processed in the United States and other countries whose laws differ from those where you live. Where required, EV will use an approved transfer mechanism and supplementary safeguards.
Contact EV using the process above under How to make a privacy request to exercise rights. You may also complain to the supervisory authority where you live or work or where you believe a violation occurred.
Children and teenagers
The Platform is not directed to children under 13, and they may not create an account or submit personal information to EV. EV does not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13 without legally required parental consent.
If EV learns that a child under 13 provided personal information without valid authorization, EV will take reasonable steps to delete it. A parent or guardian who believes this occurred should contact admin@exposedvocals.com with the subject Child Privacy Request.
A person who is at least 13 but under the age of legal majority may use EV only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. The guardian is responsible for reviewing public profile information and purchases.
EV does not knowingly sell or share the personal information of people under 16 for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Third-party links, embeds and connected services
EV pages may contain links, video or audio players, social features, payment tools and sign-in options operated by other companies. Those services may receive information such as IP address, device information, page URL and interaction data when their feature loads or you use it.
Their privacy policies—not this policy—govern their independent collection and use. Review those policies and account settings before connecting a service or interacting with an embed.
If you disconnect a service from EV, information previously received may remain where EV has a lawful operational, security, archival or legal need. Disconnecting EV does not delete information held independently by the third party.
Information submitted for other people
Managers, labels, publicists, agencies, band administrators and other representatives may provide personal information for artists, clients, collaborators or employees.
When you do so, you represent that you are authorized to provide the information, have given any required notice and obtained any required consent. Do not add someone to a public roster, publish private contact information or submit sensitive materials without authority.
If a person disputes a profile, roster relationship, credit or representation claim, EV may pause access or publication while reviewing evidence from the affected parties.
International use
EV operates from the United States. If you use the Platform from another country, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and wherever EV’s providers operate.
Privacy protections may differ from those in your country. EV will use safeguards required by applicable law, but you are responsible for determining whether your use of EV is lawful where you live.
Changes to this policy
EV may update this policy as the Platform, vendors, law and data practices change. The updated page will show the new effective date.
For material changes, EV will provide reasonable notice through the Platform, account email or another appropriate method before the change takes effect when required. If a change requires consent, EV will request it.
Earlier versions may be retained for legal and operational records. Review this page periodically, especially before using a new EV feature.
